The Rhode Island White is very comparable to its relative, the Rhode Island Red. Our Rhode Island White comes from a production strain that has been selectively bred over the years to produce a large number of brown shell eggs. The hens come into production at about 20 weeks of age. Males of this strain tend to mature slightly slower than the Rhode Island Red males. We utilize this breed in many of our Sexlink crosses.
