Red Broiler Chicks are a great alternative to the traditional Cornish Cross. They are a slower growing broiler, reaching 5-6lbs in 8-10 weeks of age. These birds grow slightly faster than the traditional Freedom Ranger Broiler, but slower than the Cornish Cross. They are known to have less leg and health problems than the Cornish Cross. Our Red Broiler line is a cross of Cornish Cross and Red Broiler genetics. Chicks of this variety are a red/brown color and as they mature, they will be a red/copper colored with white under feathers. They do great free ranging and handle most any climate well. We recommend this variety to any farmer looking for a slower growing broiler.
