The Buff Orpington is an excellent egg layer. Hens of this breed can lay 250+ brown eggs per hen each year. As chicks they are this golden buff color and as they feather out they will continue to be gold/buff in color. The Buff Orpington is one of our favorite breeds to hatch. When they mature their feathers are loose and they will appear much larger than they actually are. Females of this breed make great mothers. We recommend adding some of these birds to your flock!
